Abstract/Summary

Globally a new trend is developing that recommends avoidance of nondigestible, rapidly fermentable carbohydrates, also referred to as FODMAPs. This trend includes the publication of “free from” books and articles and the launch of diet programs and specialty foods. In this article we present information to help in making appropriate dietary recommendations.
