Abstract/Summary

Analysis of Late Iron Age and Early Roman pits showed a heavy concentration of use of oak for fuel, industrial use and construction at the site, which likely was sourced from managed stands. Collection of chalk-loving taxa also indicates fuel collection from some distance from the site.
