Abstract/Summary
As the cyber-physical systems (CPS) get more diversified many stakeholders, either from the same or other organizations, need to collaborate. Moreover, underlying services, modules, devices or subsystems interact with these stakeholders, as well as with each other, which increases the demand for decentralized accountability systems. This paper presents a combined approach that associates the notion of i) verification and validation; ii) security-aware decentralized accountability, and iii) AI-powered predictive maintenance for automated solutions within the Industry 4.0 context. The proposed threat model presents a visionary approach to improving the resilience of automated CPSs against security, safety and privacy risks and can be adapted to any field of application where automation is needed. The presented solution strategy is built on the experiences gathered in three European projects VALU3S, Critical-Chains and SmartPDM.
