Abstract/Summary
A publishing agreement is a contract through which the right to publish and reproduce a literary work is assigned to a publisher by the copyright owner or their successors. The provisions outlined in the Turkish Code of Obligations No. 6098 aim to clarify the language used, establish a requirement for a written form, and grant specific rights to the parties involved. These include a right of recall for the original owner and a right to update for the successors. This paper evaluates these new provisions through the lens of copyright law to identify potential gaps and propose solutions to reduce inconsistencies.
