Abstract/Summary

The Soil Assembly, Kochi Biennale, India 2023 Introducing a panel session with selected artists from the Ecological futurisms Collective at CREAM at University of Westminster, this artist talk explored preliminary research into light pollution in Northern Europe. Drawing on a residency undertaken in Amstelpark Amsterdam, with Prof Neal White, the talk draws on scientific and cultural responses to the growing impact of light pollution on nocturnal ecologies, including insect populations and wildlife in and around urban centres. The original research was funded by the Monrdiaan Fonds (NL), and supported by zone2source (Amsterdam). www.soilassembly.net
