Abstract/Summary

This, the first part of a two-part article, examines the development of China's legal regime governing insider dealing. Discusses the factors responsible for the high incidence of insider dealing during China's economic expansion, the background to the current regime, and key features of its evolution since 1914, including the most significant legislative provisions.
