Abstract/Summary

Members of PurpleSTARS presented their experiences of exploring their history, both as people with learning disabilities and as people of African and Caribbean Heritage. The presentation included details of their work with the Lord Rix archive and as well as their contributions to audience engagement and preparations for a pop up installation with Hackney Museum's Roots, Records and Rhythms exhibition on the Borough's history of African and Caribbean Music.PurpleSTARS Inclusive History and Culture through Digital Media The purpleSTARS team will led conference delegates in creating personal and reflective material in accessible digital and multimedia formats to demonstrate the inclusive ways of working with history and culture that the purpleSTARS have been pioneering.
