Abstract/Summary

TBLT has gained currency as a research-oriented and practice-driven approach to teaching a L2/FL in many parts of the world over the past decades due to the disappointment teachers expressed with traditional methodologies. TBLT focuses on the use of authentic language by asking students to engage in meaningful tasks to enable learners use language for real-life purposes. This book brings task-based research and teaching together to examine the application of current theory and research into classroom practices. It addresses some of the key issues that are central to effective teaching practices. The book focuses on how research in TBLT can inform the teaching of second or foreign languages (L2/FL).
