Abstract/Summary

In 1971, due to the scarcity of ethical values in biomedical sciences, Van Rensselaer Potter proposed the term Bioethics. Later, in 1988, he revised, updated, and refocused his work, aiming towards a global bioethical framework, going further than the original vision of human health -especially within the easy lifestyle of developed countries. He incorporated bioethics to all aspects of human life. In this respect, forensic work is not excluded from Potter’s paradigm.The instruction, the education of future forensic scientists must include it.Therefore, as citizens of a partialized and globalised world, we must review the quality of our own life standards and how they evolve at three levels: anthropocentric, sensocentric and ecocentric.This work looks at our own bioethical attitudes in relation to the procedures followed in a forensic case, from the processing of samples to the final report, to the work at court as witness experts as well as the publication of the forensic investigation in a scientific journal.
